Every year during the second week of February, Florence is the only place in the world you want to be. Luckily for me I was lonely on Valentines Day this year and was able to eat my weight in chocolate from this festival. It’s not only the best chocolate from around the country it is also the best time of year to be in Florence. There are no tourists, and it’s kinda cold but that just gives you the perfect excuse to drink the liquid hot chocolate with a scoop of gelato. Literal melted chocolate. For you to drink. With Gelato. There’s chocolate EVERYTHING, chocolate sneakers, chocolate kebabs, chocolate alcohol, chocolate kebabs, hot chocolate, chocolate face cream, chocolate kebabs, did you catch that I said chocolate kebabs? For a euro you can get a stick of about five strawberries dipped in your choice of mild, dark or white chocolate. I don’t know if there is anything better. This was the perfect cure to my post Paris depression. Well….that’s a lie. There is no cure for Paris, but it helped.
